Drinking horns were the main beverage vessels used by the Vikings. Most likely used as an everyday vessel yet some drinking horns were used in ceremonies such as festivities and religious rituals. The Viking drinking horn carries a long history for over 2000 years ago and can be found in other cultures and mythologies as well. A nice example of that is the Ancient greek Attic red-figure vase dated to 480 BC which shows the Greek God Dionysus and a satyr each holding a drinking horn.
